C. Rex Seipert

July 16, 1938 — March 23, 2019

Cleon Rex Seipert was born July 16,1938 in Westwood, California. He passed away on March 23, 2019 at his home in Orem, Utah after a long-term illness.

His parents were Cleon Roman Seipert and Dolly Elizabeth Chandler. He married Sandra Diane Peebles on January 21,1961 at Oakland, California where they were serving in the United States Naval Hospital. They were later sealed in the Los Angeles Temple in September 1961 before moving to Missoula Montana where Rex worked with his father as a carpenter for a time.

Rex and Sandy moved to Indiana in 1964 where he worked for R.R. Donnelly printing company as an electrician. Their closest church was in Lafayette, Indiana 30 miles north of their home. A small branch was organized in Crawfordsville, Indiana and Rex was called to be the first branch president. Rex served in various positions in the church including many years of serving in the scouting organization. He loved working with the young men in helping them progress with new skills.

In October 1978 Rex moved his family to Orem, Utah where he worked at Brigham Young University in the electric shop. He injured his back while working and eventually had to go on disability.

Rex was an avid wood worker and built many pieces of furniture for their home including a roll-top desk that his wife didn't think was needed but now she couldn't do without. One of several highlights in his life were a couple of fishing trips to Alaska with his sons.

Rex's later years were dedicated to serving his family and surrounding neighbors. He was a true example of Christ like love and service in all aspects of his life.

Rex is survived by his wife Sandy and their four sons. Curt (Stephanie) of Maple Valley, Washington. Blaine (Tami) of Alpine, Utah. Scott (Aya) of Gilbert, Arizona. Mark (Chalise) of Lehi, Utah. Rex has 17 grandchildren and seven great-grand children. He was preceeded in death by his son Kevin and a brother Lloyd.
