Connie Carter

December 30, 1937 — August 14, 2022

Provo, Utah

Connie Rae Asay Carter 84 passed away at her home in Provo August 14, 2022.

There was a wonderful reunion with her mother Doris Baysinger Asay and her father Boyd E Asay. She is preceded in death by her parents and Ken's parents Bert and Blanche Gingell Carter.

Connie was born on December 30, 1937 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was a preemie baby when she was brought home from the hospital, her bassinet was a large shoe box. Sometime later the family moved to Orem, Utah. Connie attended Spencer Elementary and graduated from Lincoln High School. She attended BYU and then worked as a phone operator at Mountain Bell in Provo Utah.

She married Kennith J. Carter on June 3rd 1960 in the Salt Lake temple. The couple moved to Logan Utah where Ken attended Utah State University. Connie transferred from the Provo office to Logan Mountain Bell office to help Ken finish his degree in Mathematics. She was the secretary to the Area Plant Manager. The area included Logan and surrounding communities.

While living in Logan their first son Kenny was born. After Ken graduated from Utah State, they accepted a job with Boeing and moved to Kirkland Washington. While there in Washington, Connie was called to the Young Women's organization of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They were there for two years and then moved back to Logan to continue his education. The first home they bought was across from the Logan cemetery. They later moved to Provo while Ken worked in Salt Lake City and completed his MBA at the U of U.

Connie worked with special needs children at Grandview Elementary school for many years. She loved gardening and worked hours in their yard. She was always excited to see her first tomato and other vegetables. Connie and Ken have a beautiful home full of wonderful earthly things but what you really feel when you enter their home is their LOVE for each other.

They have three wonderful sons. Each earned the Eagle Scout award. Connie is survived by her loving husband Ken, their sons and wives; and grandchildren and one great grandchild. Son: Kenny (Lesli) Carter, Provo, Ramsey Carter, Morgan Carter; Son: Mark (Tracy) Carter, Provo, Logan Carter, Chelsi Dayton, and Collins Rae Carter, Taylor Carter; Son: Eric (Teri) Carter Provo, Brianna, Chelsea, and Cole.
