Clifford “Clark” Ellis
Clifford "Clark" Ellis of Orem/Lindon passed away peacefully on May 5, 2023. He was born in Melbourne, Florida on April 12, 1932, to Clifford Orville Ellis and Alice Marguerite Gillis. He is survived by his three sons, S. Christopher, Ellis (Vivian), Steven R. Ellis, and John Mitchell Ellis (Rachelle). Clark had nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Clark served in the Air Force during the Korean War working on the B-36 as an electrician. It was there he developed his love of flying and soon after his honorable discharge from the armed forces earned his private pilot's license. His love of flying led to him undertake the construction of his own airplane. He flew from one end of the country to the other with his son John, who also loved flying.
Clark undertook the challenge of attending college late in life. At the age of 40, he started his undergraduate degree at BYU. He graduated as an Electrical Engineer in 1977. Soon thereafter, he began a career with Utah Power & Light ensuring that Utah’s power grid was well maintained. He retired in 1991. He moved back to his hometown in Florida in 1996 to care for his mother. When she passed, he moved back to Utah to be closer to his children.
Clark was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He loved serving in the church and blessed the lives of many people.
