Claude Morris Hubbard, 86, of Highland, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2020. He was born February 12, 1934, in McClurg, Virginia, to Thomas Wilmer and Bessie Lee Rasnake Hubbard. He married Bonnie Jean Hughes on October 12, 1956 in Salt Lake City. They were later sealed in the Manti Temple in 2011. She preceded him in death on February 20, 2012.
Claude was a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University and served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Following his military service he was employed by General Motors in Columbus, Ohio, where he worked until he retired in 1986. He loved to play golf and was involved with barbershop quartets and served in Sertoma. When he was 76 years old he became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Provo Temple.
Claude is survived by his two daughters: Terri (John) Shepard of Aurora, Ill; Kelli (David) Ford of Highland, Utah; 9 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, his three sisters: Carrie, Doris, and Edith, and his brother Jiles.
A viewing for friends and family will be held on Monday, February 24, 2020, at 9:30 a.m. and funeral services will be held the same day at 10:30 a.m. at The Sundberg Olpin Mortuary located at 495 South State Street in Orem. Entombment will be at the City View Memoriam in Salt Lake City.
