Christopher Doty

Christopher Colton Doty, age 22, of Cottonwood, California, peacefully returned to his Heavenly Father's loving care while surrounded by a multitude of family and friends, on January 8, 2017.  Colton was born on August 9, 1994 in American Fork, Utah to Christopher A. and Teri L. Doty.

Colton was an exemplary student at Evergreen Elementary and West Valley High School in Cottonwood, California and also at Brigham Young University in Rexburg, Idaho.  He was employed as a student academic advisor for the college of business at BYU-I.  Colton was a highly intelligent young man who enjoyed playing basketball and baseball and was a loyal fan of the Seattle Seahawks, Dallas Mavericks, and Los Angeles Dodgers.  He loved camping and being with family and friends, and was adored by his cousins of all ages. No matter where Colton went he was known for his goodness, kindness, humor and selflessness; he was emphatically loved by all. Colton diligently served in the Tampa, Florida Mission where he was revered for his focused commitment to live and share the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Christopher Colton Doty is survived by his parents, Chris and Teri Doty of Cottonwood, California, his two sisters, Kelsie and Cambria, his brother, Tyler, Grandparents Ed and Janis, Ron and Karen, 11 aunts and uncles, 33 cousins, and he enjoyed his relations with numerous extended family members.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Cedar Pass Stake Center, 8273 N Simpson Springs Road,  Eagle Mountain, Utah. A visitation will be held at the church on Friday at 10:00 a.m. prior to the services. Burial will be in the American Fork City Cemetery.

A memorial service will be held in California on January 20, 2017 in the Anderson Stake Center.
