Christian Yeates

August 22, 1963 — April 5, 2021

Christian David Yeates, 57, of Orem, UT, passed away on April 5, 2021, surrounded by his family, after a long and valiant fight with cancer. Chris had a determined and resilient spirit and fought hard until the very end. He will be greatly missed. Chris was born to Gordon and Rita Yeates in Johnson City, NY on August 22, 1963. He was the second of four children and the oldest son. On December 20, 1985, Chris married Laura Bramall for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple. They were blessed with four children over the years. Chris considered family his greatest blessing in life.

After serving a full-time mission in Tampa, Florida, Chris went to Ricks College in Rexburg, ID where he met Laura. They eventually transferred to BYU in Provo, UT and he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. Chris worked in various careers in healthcare over the course of his life. He started Hearts for Hospice and Home Health and later became the first Administrator for the Stonehenge facilities and eventually became part owner. He loved to serve in this capacity and strove for excellence to improve the healthcare industry.

Chris was a stalwart and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings throughout his life including ministering brother, bishop, counselor in the stake presidency, and most recently as ward mission leader. Chris always knew how to help and serve the one, touching many lives over the years.

Chris was an avid golfer. He enjoyed traveling to golf tournaments that his children played in around the country. He was a member of Riverside Country Club for the past 15 years where you could find him golfing regularly with his family. Chris never used a golf cart. He always said, “golf is meant to be walked.”

Chris is survived by his loving wife, Laura, of 35 years; his four children: Michelle (Ryan) Oaks of Vineyard, UT; Monica (Jackson) Curtis of Orem, UT; Aaron (Lydia) Yeates of Orem, UT; Spencer Yeates of Orem, UT; two grandchildren, Adelaide and Myra Oaks; brother Matt (Karen) Yeates of Mount Pleasant, SC; and sister Valery (Christopher) Shaw of Saratoga Springs, UT. He is preceded in death by his parents and oldest sister, Lisa Lambe.
