Charles Lavern Monson, 89, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2015 at the Veteran's Home in Payson. He was born on May 31, 1925 in Sutherland, Nebraska to Swan and Flora Monson. He married Dana Jones July 31, 1949 and were later divorced. He married Judith Lee Jones April 29, 1960. He graduated from Paxton Nebraska High School in 1942 and served his country as a Sargent in the Americal Infantry WWII from 1944 to 1946 in the Philippines and as a military policeman in Tokyo, Japan. He was employed by the State of Nebraska, State of Utah and U.S. Department of Labor for a total of 60 years. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and served as the Exalted Ruler. He was also a member of the Timpanogos Gem and Mineral club where he displayed his extensive egg collection. His children survive him: Peggy Torrens (Dennis), Shelley Monson, Dan Densley (DeAnn), Connie Good (Leslie), grandchildren and great grandchildren. His wife, father, mother, and brothers Elmer and John preceded him in death. At his request there will be no viewing or funeral. Graveside services for family only.
