Charles Dowling Jr.

September 27, 1942 — April 9, 2017

Charles Patrick Dowling Jr., age 74, of Orem, Utah, passed away on April 9, 2017, after a three-year battle with mesothelioma.  He was born on September 27, 1942, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Charles Patrick and Hilma King Dowling.  He grew up in Provo.  Chuck later moved to California, where he married Diana Larson on July 25, 1970, in the Los Angeles LDS Temple.

Chuck served in the Southern Far East Mission from December 1962 to June 1965.  He also served in the National Guard from 1959 to 1968, and then graduated from BYU in 1969.  For 38 years, Chuck was worked for the Los Angeles Public Administrators Office, becoming a manager.  He lived in San Dimas, where he raised his four sons.  He was an active member of the LDS Church throughout his life.

Chuck is survived by his wife Diana; his four sons: John, Christopher, Kevin, and Douglas; his five grandchildren: Rylan, Braden, Elise, Christian, and Nicholas; and his sister DeAnn Peck.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 22, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at the LDS Chapel located at 50 South 750 West in Orem, Utah.  Viewings will be held on Friday, April 21, 2017, at 7 p.m. at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary located at 495 South State Street, Orem, Utah, and on Saturday, April 22, 2017, just prior to the services at the church beginning at 9 a.m.  Interment will be at the East Lawn Cemetery located at 4800 North 650 East in Provo, Utah, at 12:30 p.m.  We are grateful for all who have known and loved Chuck, and thank you for your support.
