Charles Beale

November 26, 1920 — November 1, 2014

Charles Ivan Beale passed peacefully with family gathered in the home that he loved on November 1, 2014. Charlie was born November 26, 1920 in the Bronx of New York City, NY, son of Harold Hartley Beale and Muriel Marguerite Worme Beale. His parents were immigrants to NY from Barbados, British West Indies. A lifelong love of airplanes led him to training out of high school for the Army Air Corp. He worked in aircraft structural repair and served during World War II in Australia and Islands of the Pacific. He was later called to serve with the Airforce in Korea. His membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and his marriage and sealing to beloved wife Leda Ann Crandall Beale and their family was his greatest joy. Charles is survived by his wife Leda, daughters Barbara DeVol (Denis) and Rhonda March (Dave) and son Gary Beale (Rebecca). His life was blessed with twelve wonderful grandchildren and thirteen precious great grandchildren. Charles served in many church callings in his early years as a member. Most notable is his service as clerk to seven Bishops and one Stake President. He was an especially devoted home teacher, who never missed a monthly visit to "his families". Throughout his life and through a long and happy retirement, Charles enjoyed building and crafting airplanes, home projects, a boat and furniture. He loved big band music and was an avid mystery reader. Charles and Leda were inseparable in life and be will be together always. There will be a graveside service at Eastlawn Cemetery in Provo, Utah at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday November 5, 2014.
