Cenia Marie Carlsen Parsons age 83, born 29 September 1937 in Pocatello ID, to George H. and Ann Larson Carlsen, passed away on 19 June 2021 at the Ashford Assisted Living in Springville UT.
Cenia was a devoted and dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many stakes and overseas. She was a Stake Primary President and Ward RS President, six times ward first counselor and teacher in Primary. Nursery leader and SS teacher. Cenia with her husband served as the office couple in the Daejeon South Korea Mission for 18 months.
She was a devoted mother to her four children and an outstanding example. Cenia supported and served with her husband during his 22 1/2 year military career.
She was employed as the medical office assistant by a pediatrician for 1 year, and a urologist for 10 years. Cenia enjoyed her work plus associating with the patients. She was a caring, giving, amiable lady who was loved by many. Cenia will be missed.
She is survived by her husband, Richard B Parsons, Springville UT. They were married in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on 21 June 1956, Son Keith R Parsons (Jill), Elk Ridge, UT, and daughter Laura Lee Parsons Hindmarsh (Todd), Tomball TX. Son-in-Law Richard C Rife (Colleen), Spanish Fork UT, Daughter-in-law Connie N Wheatley (Josuha) Kennewick WA, Brother Gary H Carlsen (Barbara) Pocatello ID, two sisters Marsha A Carlsen, Marysville WA, KaJeen C Barlow (Stan), Ithaca NY, Robert J. Parsons, Brother-in-law (Connie) Spanish Fork, UT, 17 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three siblings, Rea A. and John M. Carlsen, and Georgann Garrett, son Lynn C. Parsons and daughter Janet Parsons Rife and grandson Cole M. Hindmarsh.
A viewing for family and friends will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Thursday, June 24 at Orem Park 4th Ward building, Relief Society Room, 50 South 750 West, Orem, UT.
Graveside Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at the Orem City Cemetery, 1520 North 800 East, Orem, Utah.
