Carolyn Odessa Hart Gross

Carolyn Odessa Hart Gross, 81, of Orem, passed away Monday, April 21, 2025 from complications following a stroke. She was born August 26, 1943 in Warren Ohio to Jane May Bridgette Lindgren and Herbert Merle Hart. Her husband Bruce L Gross, 6 children, 26 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, other family and friends miss her terribly.

Carolyn was in banking for nearly 50 years, starting as a teller and working her way up to Branch Manager, then Operations Manager. She was the first woman named as chapter president of the Utah Valley Chapter of the American Institute of Banking (AIB). She served on the board of the Miss Utah beauty pageant for several years, inspiring young women to be confident and strong.

She enjoyed cooking and baking from scratch, scrapbooking and card making, toll painting, sewing, ceramics, jewelry making and gardening. She was best known for her homemade pies.

She thought more of others than she did herself. Every year for Veterans Day, she made cards by hand that were either mailed or handed out in person to military personnel, thanking them for their service. She was a legendary primary teacher in her LDS ward for many years, going way above and beyond because she loved helping the children grow in the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Her true loves are her family: her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in particular. She never forgot a birthday and attended most events that they were involved in. She was our rock. She was our soft place to land. She was our everything.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 28, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., in the Lakeview 1st Ward chapel, located at 1146 West 1450 South, Orem. The Interment will take place at the Orem City Cemetery located at 1520 North 800 East, immediately following the funeral service.
