Carole Christiansen

Carole Ann (Peterson) Christiansen passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on August 7, 2018.

Carole was born on March 27, 1964 in Inglewood, CA to Ross and Merrilynn Peterson.  She had many challenges in her life that she rose above.  She was the glue in many relationships through her lifetime.  Carole loved fashion and decorating.  She frequently served as the seamstress for herself and many others.  She loved bright colors and animals.  She loved to entertain and host parties.  She loved her family most of all.

She graduated from Long Beach State University with her Bachelor’s in Communication.  During her time at Long Beach State she was a member of Lamda Delta Sigma.  Later when she moved to Utah she went back to school getting her Bachelor’s in Education with extra certifications in teaching special education.

She grew up in Fountain Valley, CA the youngest of 9 children.  She later moved with her first husband, Dave Call and their children to Wildomar, CA.  Then in 1999 she and her family moved to Provo, UT.  While living in California she worked as an employee of the State Disability Program as a Job Developer and later as a Client Advocate helping those with special needs.  In Utah once she received her teaching license she began her lengthy career of teaching at Canyon View Junior High.  She served an LDS Proselyting mission in her 20’s to the California, Santa Rosa Mission.  She has also served as a Relief Society teacher, Primary teacher, Sunday School teacher and other church callings.

Carole is survived by her spouse Brian Christiansen of Orem, UT, son David Call, daughter Britney (Rick) Chacon, Ethan (Katie) Call, stepson Tom (Julia) Christiansen, stepson Andrew (Elizabeth) Christiansen, stepson Alan Christiansen, stepson Brian Christiansen, stepson Spencer Christiansen, stepdaughter Monica Christiansen, stepdaughter Melinda Christiansen, grandson Royal Christiansen, granddaughter Kyra Chacon, grandson Stanton Christiansen, her mother Merrilynn Webb, brother John (Diane) Peterson, brother Steve (Wendy) Peterson, sister Arla (Doug) Jaramillo, sister Rachel (Rusty) Armstrong, sister Roslynn (Fred) Reese, stepbrother Steve (Kristine) Webb, stepbrother Bruce Webb, stepbrother Peter (Barbara) Webb, stepsister Rebecca (Mike) Walker, and stepbrother David Webb. She was preceded in death by her father Ross Merlin Peterson and step-father Albert Harold Webb.

A viewing will be held Sunday, August 12 from 6-8 p.m. at Sundberg Olpin Funeral Home, 495 S. State Street, Orem, UT, 84058.  There will be another viewing Monday, Aug. 13, 9:30-10:30 a.m. with the funeral following at 11 a.m. These will be held at the Orem Suncrest 1st Ward Chapel at 190 N 800 W, Orem.

The family requests on Carole’s behalf that those attending viewings and funeral services wear bright colors and not black.
