Carlos Denton, 79, passed away peacefully, in his home, Sunday morning, 24 January 2016 in Orem, UT. Carlos was born 16 May 1936 in Trenton, TN. Carlos enjoyed a long career with ARCO before retiring in 1986 to start a new career in corporate finance. Carlos moved with ARCO to raise his family in California before moving them to Utah when he became the controller for Mountain States Steel. Carlos enjoyed being with family, planning trips, and working crossword and jig-saw puzzles. He was a beloved Bishop in both Mississippi and California. He was a respected Sunday School Teacher and loved his Savior, Jesus Christ. He was proud to have had the opportunity to serve missions in Naga, Philippines and Ghana, Africa for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Carlos is survived by his wife Joy Berry Denton, sister Dorothy (Robert) McEwen, brother David Denton, children Carla (David) Curtis, Michael (Heidi) Denton, Andrea Denton, and Rebecca Lee, grandchildren Tawnya (Arthur) Schwartzentrub, Nichole Faircloth, Darren Curtis, Annie Curtis, Joel Meine, Ander (Susie) Meine, Aleah Denton, Eliza Denton, Cozette Denton, David Browne, Andrea (Chris) McGinnis, Kaleb Browne, Colton Browne, Cade Denton, and Kyler Denton, great-grandchildren Gavin Schwartzentrub, Ethan Schwartzentrub, Olivia Curtis, Alex Faircloth, Grace Faircloth, Domonick Curtis, Drayden Curtis, Charlotte Meine, Piercen McGinnis, and Eden McGinnis. Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday 30 January 2016 at the LDS Chapel located at 90 North 600 West, Orem, UT. A public viewing will begin at 10:00 am that same morning. Interment will be at the Orem City Cemetery.
