Burdette Wiser, ninth child of Erwin Douglas Wiser and Wanda Thompson (Wiser) passed away at his home in Provo, Utah, on Monday, February 13th, 2023, due to an illness incident to age.
He is survived by an older brother, James Gordon Wiser of Logan, Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings, Erwin Dee, Genevieve (Denning), Sylmar Thompson, Denzel Nolan, Anita (Raymond), Robert Clayne, and Gwen Wiser.
Burdette was born on February 2nd, 1944, in Lewiston, Utah, and lived there until his family moved to a farm near Ephrata, Washington in 1951. Burdette grew up on the sugar beet farm and attended high school in Ephrata, Washington. After graduating from high school in 1963, he served a mission to the Western States Mission from 1966-1968 for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After his return, he attended and graduated from Brigham Young University in 1970.
Burdette was an avid BYU sports fan and collected memorabilia for over 50 years. He loved his “Cougars” and always had season tickets to the home football games. He also loved his family and always looked forward to any and all family gatherings.
Funeral services are scheduled to begin at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 18th at the Pioneer Park Ward building located at 610 West 300 South in Provo. Burdette will then be interred at the Lewiston City Cemetery
