Bonnie LouAnn Bennett

Bonnie LouAnn Connor Bennett, age 84, of Orem, Utah, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of November 20, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones.

Bonnie was born on June 18, 1940, in Winnfield, Louisiana. She was the eldest of four children to Hazel and Melvin Connor. She moved around a lot in her youth but graduated from high school in her hometown of Winnfield. 

She later married O.G. “Tug” Bennett and they were sealed in the St. George UT temple. Bonnie had four children, Belinda, Lisa, Mark, and Jill. She was very proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and loved them fiercely. 

Bonnie spent much of her professional career as an administrative assistant. She was most proud of her time in education, first at the high school in Kingman, Arizona, and later at the McKay School of Education at Brigham Young University. 

Bonnie was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served in many capacities throughout her life, including Relief Society President, Seminary teacher, Primary teacher, Visiting teacher, and various other callings. 

She enjoyed reading, tolerated camping when she had to, spending time with her children and grandchildren, and all things Elvis. She loved to watch her grandchildren participate in sports, dance, and music recitals. 

She is survived by her children, Belinda (Lonnie) Jones, Lisa (Ladd) Muirbrook, Mark (Krishelle) Magee, Jill (Garrett) Larsen, 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brother Benjamin (Maggie) Connor and sister Jeanne (Chandler) Bates. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Hazel Connor, her husband O.G. “Tug” Bennett, a brother Ruben Connor, and granddaughter Kristine Muirbrook. We are sure she had a joyous reunion!

Services will be on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 365 South 900 East Orem, Utah. A visitation will be at the church from 9:00-10:30 AM prior to the services, which will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at the Orem City Cemetery.
