Billie Lou Carrier

Billie Lou Croshaw Carrier passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, October 28, 2017, and was reunited with her husband, James (Jim) Charles Carrier Jr., of 61 years. Billie Lou was born on May 17, 1927, in Pocatello, Idaho, to John Lionel and Wilma Jane Croshaw. Billie Lou grew up in Red Bluff, California. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served her first mission as a young woman in the Northern California Mission and had a lifelong love of missionary work. Afterwards, she attended Brigham Young University where she met Jim. They were married on June 6, 1949, and they raised their five children in San Jose, California. In 1977, she and Jim moved to Orem, Utah. Jim and Billie Lou served four LDS missions throughout the world in Lima, Peru; Barcelona. Spain; Bronx, New York; and McAllen, Texas. She also served in various leadership callings. Billie Lou exemplified President Hinckley's quote, "...major work is not done by genius', but by those who have learned to work in an extraordinary manner." Billie Lou was a woman of great faith and service. She was a mother to many more than her five children and was known as the “cookie jar mom”. She is survived by a sister Eleanor (Noel) Taylor; five children: James III (Kay) Carrier, John (Nancy) Carrier, Becky (Craig) Parker, Peter, (Vickie) Carrier, Paul (Joyce) Carrier; 23 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 3, 2017, at 11 a.m. in the Sharon Park 6th Ward, 225 East 200 North, Orem, Utah. Viewings will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street, Orem, Utah, and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church prior to the funeral services. Interment will be in the Orem City cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Humanitarian Aid or Missionary Fund.
