Beverly Jean Birk Louder (91) passed away peacefully in Provo on December 12, 2020 after living a good, long, full life.
She was born on August 19, 1929, the first child of John Clyde and Lorna Jones Birk in American Fork, UT. She attended the Harrington School, American Fork High School and LDS Business College. She met Ray R. Louder on a blind date and they were married in the Salt Lake Temple on February 16, 1956. They had one son, Brian Ray Louder, whom they loved and raised in Orem. Beverly worked as a secretary, first at Geneva Steel, then later at Orem High School. She, Ray and Brian lived across the street from Orem High, where Ray taught seminary and she worked. She lived in that same house for 62 years.
Beverly was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved the Lord and served many people in various callings and positions in both her ward and stake. Beverly enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, and playing games with family and friends. She was always warm and welcoming. It was a joy to be with her.
She was preceded in death by her eternal companion Ray in 2003 and her son Brian in 2012, her parents, her brother, Gordon Clyde Birk (Barbara Ann Whimpey) and her sister, Joyce Birk Wilson (Kay Harris Wilson). She is survived by her grandchildren Matthew Ray Louder, and Cameron Brian Louder, both of Orem and Ashley Louder Lamoreaux (Trenton Reed Lamoreaux) of St. George and five great-grandchildren - McKinley, Wyatt, Aven, Kambria and Callen. Also survived by her brother, Douglas Jones Birk (Donna Diane Smith) of Manti and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
The family would like to thank the Management and Staff of Courtyard at Jamestown Assisted Living in Provo and Brio Hospice for their kindness and good care. Much gratitude to Suzanne Birk Gundersen, Beverly’s niece, for her years of attention, concern, and care for Beverly and all her affairs in the years since Ray passed. Suzanne has been a shining example of love and charity.
A private family service will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Sundberg-Olpin Funeral Home in Orem, followed by interment at the American Fork Cemetery.
