Betty Jensen

August 13, 2002 — October 14, 2015

Betty Rae Blackburn Jensen of Orem, Utah, passed away on October 14, 2015, at the age of 90 years. Betty moved from her home in Sun River, Montana in 2002, shortly before the death of her husband, Clinton Berg Jensen, on August 13, 2002. She has lived in Orem, Utah, since that time. Betty was born on February 7, 1925, in Delta, Millard, Utah, the fourth of twelve children. She moved with her parents and siblings to Montana in the early 1930's. One of the loves of her early childhood, in addition to her family, was horses. She learned to ride bareback at a very young age. She continued a love affair with horses, riding whenever she had a chance up to just a year ago, on her favorite horse Sundance! She also loved boating and could be seen waterskiing well into her late 60's. Betty was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held various positions of service in that church throughout her life, and was especially inspirational in her service with young people. Many former Cub Scouts remember her as their most fun and favorite Den Mother. On January 15, 1947, she married Clinton Berg Jensen in the Idaho Falls Temple. They raised their family of seven children, two daughters and five sons. Terry Jensen Christensen and husband Rick, live in Fairfield, Montana. Doug Jensen and wife Kathi, live in Cedar Hills, Utah. Bruce Jensen lives in Salt Lake City, Utah. Keith Jensen and his wife Kim live in Saratoga Springs, Utah. Larry Jensen and his wife Gina, live in Orem, Utah. Cindy Jensen Wight and her husband Darrell, live in Simi Valley, California. Randy Jensen and his wife Apryl, live in Draper, Utah. Berg and Betty Jensen have 29 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren. She was also a much-loved sister to all her siblings and a favorite aunt to many nieces and nephews. All those who knew Betty remembered her as one who loved life and always looked at the bright side of things. She brought joy and laughter to all those with whom she associated. She leaves her family with a legacy of love and always shared her love of family and her love of God with them. Funeral Services will be held at the Sun River Valley Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Tuesday, October 20, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. Viewing at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be immediately after the services at the Sun River Cemetery.
