Betty Ann Christiansen, 90, of Orem, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 30, 2022. She was born March 13, 1932, to Fredrick William and Rozene Marie Koestner. She married Rolland Kay Christiansen on October 17, 1953 in Santa Barbara, California. Betty was raised on a rural farm in Russellville, Missouri, and later traveled to Santa Barbara, California to visit a childhood friend where she met her future husband. After marriage, Betty and Rolland moved to Utah where they raised their family. They were later sealed in the Provo temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Betty enjoyed serving the children in her neighborhood as a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader. Betty used her knowledge from growing up on a farm to become a wonderful homemaker in sewing, quilting, gardening, canning, and cooking. She later started her own sewing business, Betty’s Drapery Fabrication. She enjoyed traveling to Missouri to visit her family, playing games, puzzles, and reading. She and her husband were members of the Deer Sam Chapter of Good Sams where they enjoyed camping and serving others with their many friends. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. She is the grandmother of 16, great grandmother of many and great-great-grandmother of several.
She is survived by her children: Erval Kay Christiansen (Shanna Rae) of Annabella, UT, Rolland Glade Christiansen (Pamela) of Barnett, MO, Janet Ann Bushman (Jerry) Pleasant Grove, UT, and Thomas Jacob Christiansen (Robin) of Orem, UT. Siblings Jean Anderson, of Russellville, MO, Tom (Bert) Koestner of Russellville, MO and in-laws Lyle (Gail) Christiansen of Pleasant Grove, UT. She is preceded in death by her husband Rolland Kay Christiansen, son Freddie Michael Christiansen, her parents Fredrick William and Rozene Marie Koestner, sister Susie Koestner, daughter-in-law Nancy Christiansen (Thomas), grandson Christopher Karl Bushman.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in the Geneva Heights 2nd Ward Chapel, 590 North 900 West, Orem, Utah. A viewing will be held Tuesday evening July 5, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Sundberg Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street, Orem with another viewing prior to services at the church 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at the Orem City Cemetery.
