Barbara Stubbs

November 24, 1947 — February 28, 2023

Lindon, UT

Barbara Ned Morgan Stubbs, 75, of Lindon, Utah passed away on February 28, 2023, surrounded by her children and grandchildren.  Barbara was born on November 24, 1947, to Ned and Mary Morgan in Provo Utah.  She graduated from Provo High School and after raising her children went back to school and graduated from Utah State University with a degree in Psychology.  On August 11, 1966, Barbara married Russell Earl Stubbs in the Salt Lake Temple. While they moved many times in the course of their lives together, they always considered Utah County, Utah to be home.

Barbara was a skilled in sewing, crochet and many crafts.  Often making clothes for her children rather than buying them (much to the chagrin of her children).

She was passionate about raising children that were firmly rooted in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and well prepared for whatever the world had to throw at them.  Once her children were older this passion transformed into a career as a social worker helping and protecting children in the community.  After retirement, her passion became spoiling her 19 grandchildren as much as possible.  Barbara loved to play card and board games, especially Pinochle, and was a notorious cheater which she would vehemently deny.  Barbara’s life was characterized by service to her family, her church, her friends, and her community.

Barbara is preceded in death by her beloved husband Russell, her parents Ned and Mary Morgan, her brother Charles Morgan, and her Sister Judy Pearson.  She is survived by her children James (Cori) Stubbs, Chris (Sarah) Stubbs, Rusty (Teniele) Stubbs, Roger (Leigh) Stubbs, Cherilyn (Van) Phillips, her sisters Pat Robertson and Sherry Degraw and her brother Mike Morgan.

Barbara was not one to enjoy the spotlight and as such requested that a formal funeral service not be held.  Honoring her wishes a viewing will be held on Monday, March 6, 2023, from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street, Orem, followed by a Graveside service at 1:00 pm at the Provo City Cemetery, 610 South State Street, Provo. A luncheon for family and close friends will be held following the service at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints building located at 1051 East 200 South, Lindon, UT 84042.

In lieu of flowers, the family would request that those who would like to honor Barbara’s memory find some small way to brighten another’s day or make a child happy as she did for so many.

Condolences for the family may be expressed on this page.
