Barbara Redford

Barbara Marie Hoover Redford (87), passed away peacefully on July 15, 2015. Barbara was born August 23, 1927 in Provo, Utah to Raymond Upton Hoover and Elveretta Richardson. She attended Provo High School and BYU. Barbara married Rulon Jack Redford on February 9, 1949 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and later divorced. Barbara retired from US Steel (Geneva) in 1983 after 34 years of service. She liked traveling with friends to Europe, Africa, Australia, Fiji Islands and China. She kept busy by crocheting, reading, making crafts, playing bridge, working on crossword puzzles, meeting friends for lunch, and spending time with family. Barbara also enjoyed attending Senior Citizens in Orem. She was a member of the LDS church. Barbara had five children; Stephen K. (Connie) Redford, Kay (Steve) Allen, James (Stacey) Redford, John Scott Redford (deceased) Raquel (Scott) Boehme, 12 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, and two sisters, Norma Hoover Hamilton and Lola Mae Hoover Walker. Her family would like to thank the staff at Carrington Court Assisted Living and Millcreek Home Health, especially her home health nurses Cassandra and Joanie, for their wonderful care. Barbara's sense of humor and gift of gab will be missed by her friends and family. A viewing will be held at Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary (495 S. State Street, Orem) on Tuesday, July 21, from 1:00 - 1:45 pm. Interment will be at the Provo City Cemetery where a family graveside service will be held.
