Ashby L. Snow

Ashby L. Snow, 84 of Springville, Utah, passed away Sunday May 5, 2024.  He was born October 18, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan, to Arthur Lincoln Snow and Dorothy Francis Ann Shea Snow.  He married Barbara May Farrell on August 15, 1962, in Bloomfield, Michigan and they were sealed in the St. George Temple on September 12, 1962.   She preceded him in death on July 1, 2009.

Dad loved driving and working on his two muscle cars.  Last year when taking him for a ride in his 1956 Chevy he said “Never apologize for going fast”.  He served an LDS mission in England, during that time converts were hard to come by.   He found a way to accomplish many baptisms by engaging the kids in playing baseball.  This led him and his companion to meeting the parents and family members.  Upon returning from his mission he attended BYU in Provo, Utah and then realized he missed his sweetheart Barb so he went back to Michigan and proposed to her.   After their marriage they came back to Provo, Utah to start their family.  Dad had many interesting jobs to support his family and eventually went into business with his father in operating Ardor Mfg.  He served in various church callings, enjoying each one.

Ashby is survived by his five children: Kathryn (Christopher) Adams of Spanish Fork, Utah; Colleen Cloward of Saratoga Springs, Utah; Karen (Paul Goertz) Snow of Beresford, South Dakota; Phillip Snow of West Jordan, Utah; Carolyn Snow of Spring Park, Minnesota; Nieces and Nephew; Emily, Molly, Amy, Ned, Katie, and Bethany; 15 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara, daughter, Christine, and two brothers Arthur Snow, and Neil Snow.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary located at 425 S State St., Orem, Utah, 84058.  A viewing for friends and family will be held just prior to the services on Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.  Burial will be in the Provo Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to Primary Children’s Hospital.
