Arthur Clarence Earl Meredith (ACE), sof Orem Utah passed away Friday February 14, 2020. He was born February 7, 1927, in Beaver Utah to Arthur John Childs Meredith and Gladys Emory Clark Meredith. He married Wilma Faye Gourley on June 12, 1947 in Springville Utah. They were sealed in the Manti Temple on July 2, 1963. She preceded him in death on January 24, 2007. He then married Beverly Aiken on May 14, 2016 and they were sealed in the Provo City Temple on May 24, 2017.
Art served in the US Navy during World War II. He loved to travel, camp, hunt, and fish. He was also a member of the Good Sams Club for many years and had many memories to share of the camping trips shared with friends. In Art's later years he loved going to the Orem Senior Center where he started showing movies every Monday. That was a highlight of his week because he loved to volunteer to serve others. The movie was his idea to do something for the seniors. He enjoyed the food and the company of friends there and made many new friends. That is where he met his second wife and unofficially adopted Gena and Kirk Bertelson.
He was an amazing Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather and Great-Great-Grandfather and he loved his 4 children and posterity so much. Beverly brought him 3 stepchildren and 11 more grandchildren that he loved so much too. He was a member of the Church of Latter-day Saints and held the office of High Priest. He held many callings in the church and enjoyed them all. He served a mission at the Provo MTC for several years and thoroughly loved his time spent there.
Art is survived by his wife Beverly Aiken Meredith, Orem Utah. His son Arthur Jerry Meredith (Kathy Cahoon) St George, Utah; daughter Judy B Meredith Woffinden Orem Utah; daughter Debra Ann Meredith McEwan (Donald Eugene McEwan deceased) St George, Utah and was preceded in death by his oldest daughter Frances Mary Meredith Shepherd (Wesley R) Noxon, Montana. His stepchildren Brian Aiken (Patti) Cottonwood Heights, Utah; Clint Aiken (Darci) Coeur d’Alene Idaho; Jodie Aiken Ybarra (Joe) Irvine, California.
He leaves behind 28 grandchildren (9 of which Beverly brought with her). He also leaves behind 51 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepparents, brother Alfred Jack Meredith; stepbrother Phillip Abbey; sisters Gladys Meredith and Eileen Wade; brother in law John Wade, and his daughter Frances Mary Meredith Shepherd and son in law Donald Eugene McEwan. He was also preceded in death by 2 grandsons, Cory Shepherd and Carl Shepherd.
