Arlene Hillman Dye Kendall, age 88, passed away on October 22, 2024, in Orem, Utah. Born on April 27, 1936, Arlene was known for her loving, faithful, hardworking, and devoted nature.
First and foremost Arlene worked with heart and soul as a Mother and Grandmother. Outside of home, Arlene had a diverse career, starting as a secretary at the Carpenters Union and the Arco Atomic Energy Site in Idaho. She later became a business owner-manager of the Spudnut Shop in Provo, UT. After selling the business, she worked as a Blueprint Technician at Valtek in Springville, UT.
She graduated from Firth High School and was a dedicated student who also loved dances and the company of boys.
Her commitment to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was evident through her service as a full-time missionary in Bilbao, Spain, and again at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. She also dedicated many years as a Cub Scout Den leader, enriching the lives of many boys including her sons.
Arlene's hobbies included gardening, camping, sewing, and reading, which brought her much joy throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd Hillman, Lucille Rowbury Hillman, Laverne Hillman; her son, Gardell Dye; and her husbands, Norman Dean Dye and Roy Lane Kendall, and siblings Orin Hillman, and Vera Christensen. Arlene is survived by her siblings Shirley Gee, Ray Hillman, Aloma Custer, Eddie Hillman, Marilyn Ray, and Joe Hillman; her sons Marty Dye (Carol), Jeff Dye (Nitaya), Greg Dye (Laura), Corey Dye (Nadine), and Chris Dye (Brenda); along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 26, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 1650 South 200 East, Orem, UT. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., followed by the funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at 1:00 pm on Monday, October 28th in Firth, Idaho.
