Arden Ford Johnson 1923 ~ 2015 Arden Ford Johnson, age 92, passed away peacefully in his home on October 22, 2015, in Orem, Utah with his wife Elma and his three daughters by his side. He was born June 19, 1923 in Kanab, Utah to Joseph Smith Johnson and Mary Agnes Ford. Very meaningful to Arden was his service in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was so proud of his opportunity to serve his country and be a witness to the to the signing of the Japanese Instrument of Surrender aboard the U.S.S. Missouri in Tokyo Bay on September 2, 1945. He felt very privileged to serve his country and traveled to Hawaii with his family on multiple occasions to show them "his ship". He married Elma Owens on October 10, 1952. They were sealed 10 years later in the Saint George Utah LDS temple and recently celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. He lived and worked many years in both Utah and Oroville, CA and retired from the Operating Engineers Union 1986. He is survived by his wife Elma of Orem, UT, their three daughters: Annette (Tom) Robertson of Oroville, CA, Diane (Wayne) Fairbanks of Orem, UT and Carol (Larry) Anderson of Lindon, UT. Arden has 22 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren. He leaves his family a wonderful legacy of faith, loyalty and strength. We picture him enjoying a wonderful reunion with his son Bruce who passed away in 1972. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 26th, 2015 at the LDS Stake Center, 20 West Center Street in Kanab Utah.
