Antoinette Margaret Smart Morgan, born February 4, 1939, to Ammon Nephi Smart and Esther Dickerson Smart, came into this world with a vibrant and adventurous spirit. She learned to work hard in the service of others and to love the outdoors from her father and gained an appreciation for beauty from her mother who was a painter. She was a passionate lover of being in nature and always felt at home and happy outdoors.
Antoinette was raised to love the Lord and live His good news – a lesson she took deeply to heart as she strove always to live a Christ-centered life. She met Lawrence Killpack Morgan as a teenager. They married August 7th, 1959, and he remained the love of her life for this life and all eternity. Together they raised nine children in love and infinite patience, and many others who were in need of their parental love and guidance.
Antoinette had a capacity to love unconditionally that was unmatched by few but the Savior. She devoted her entire life to the Lord and the service of her husband, children, and all those in need who crossed her path. She exemplified the loving kindness of the Savior in all she did. Taking a page from her father’s book, she gently encouraged all who knew her to come unto Christ and realize their immense potential.
Antoinette also loved to dream big – always thinking of things that her children and grandchildren would love. Her enthusiasm and creativity inspired her sweetheart to do all he could to help bring her visions to life. She was most proud of the home she cultivated that allowed her to raise her children with strong values, the ability to work hard, and a knowledge of their own capacity. There is nothing she wouldn’t give for her family and those she loved. Her family was her purpose and greatest pride. She beamed with joy as she watched her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren grow and flourish. Her legacy of love lives on in her 9 plus children, and her almost 100 grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
