Ann Marie Pyne

February 14, 1952 — July 21, 2024

Orem

Ann Marie Nelson Pyne (aged 72) passed away at home in the arms of her loving husband, Dee Randy Pyne, on the afternoon of July 21st, 2024, in Orem, Utah. We are grateful to Randy, who took devoted care of her through the many health complications she endured following a stroke earlier this year.

Ann was born on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1952, to Sterling Richard Nelson and Jean Nuttall in Fort Belvoir, Fairfax County, Virginia. She grew up with a wonderful older sister, Sandra, whom she always looked up to.

Ann lost her parents at a young age, so she was determined to build a family of her own. She married Clair Johnson Call in 1970 and had five children before their marriage ended in 1983. Ann was briefly married to Kenneth Hughes before she met and married Dee Randy Pyne in 1992, who brought with him a welcome addition of two new children into her family.

Ann entered the workforce in the early 90’s where she discovered she had a head for sales and business. She worked at Jenny Craig for many years as Manager before pursuing an opportunity to sell siding for Sears. She quickly rose to the top in sales before she was unexpectedly recruited to work for a local Entrepreneur at KEB Enterprises. She loved working at KEB, where she was able to truly spread her wings and soar. We were amazed by her success and ability to thrive under pressure. She was given numerous opportunities to help provide jobs to many people who loved working with her and enjoyed learning from her. She really cared about the people she worked for and considered them family.

Ann enjoyed traveling with her husband and was able to visit many exotic places on earth, but their favorite place to vacation was at Lake Powell. They spent a lot of time there; it was like a second home to them. Randy and Ann loved being on their boat, enjoying the water with their dogs Eddy, Coco, and Lucy. They later adopted a dog named Daisy. Ann is survived by their most recently adopted dog named Zeva who, alongside Randy, stayed by Ann’s side as her constant companion during her final days on earth.

Ann became very sick with cancer in 2014, so life had to slow down for her after that. With Randy’s help, she bravely fought her cancer and ultimately won that battle, but overall, her treatments came at great cost to her energy and vitality. However, she never lost her sense of style and took great effort to take care of herself with class and grace. She kept smiling and watching over her family and friends. She did her best to continue making memories when she was able. Ann loved making and keeping traditions alive in the hearts of her children.

Ann is survived by her husband (Dee Randy Pyne), her sister Sandra Ward (Lloyd), and her children, Jessica Damon-Pugsley (Mark), Eliza Kindrick (Jeff), Kully Call Harding, Reagan Call (Alisha), Brooke Pyne (Matt), and Hayden Pyne (Sandi). Ann was preceded in death by her son Clair Joseph Call (aged 47).
