Martha Ann Scoresby Griffin, 86, of Mapleton, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2018.
Ann was born December 15, 1932, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Alvin Moroni Scoresby and Martha Wilson. She married LeRoy Richard Griffin Jr. on April 28, 1962 in Idaho Falls Idaho and were later sealed in the Oakland, LDS Temple on January 5, 1971 He proceeded her in Death on May 28, 1987
As a young woman, Ann served a mission for the LDS church to the Northern States. She has had a firm testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ her entire life. She had many callings in the church mostly centered around music. She graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Arts. She taught elementary school, with 5th grade being her favorite, for a total of 29 years, taking time off to raise her three children. She loved reading, doing all kinds of puzzles, teaching, listening to the tabernacle choir, crocheting and was an avid BYU football fan.
Ann is survived by her three children: Richard Griffin of Vineyard, UT, Dianne (Randy) Treadwell of Clermont, FL, and Kristi (Kevin) Wilkins of Spanish Fork, UT; 15 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her, parents and brother James Scoresby
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the LDS chapel located at 1068 S. 1600 W. (US-89) Mapleton, UT. A viewing for friends and family will be held just prior to the service from 9:30-10:30 with a family prayer at 10:45. Burial will be in the American Fork City Cemetery 26 W. 600 N.
