Anita Wiser Raymond passed away on Friday, September 30th, 2016 in Provo, Utah. She was surrounded by her family, and asked us to express her love and appreciation to all who have helped her in so many ways the past few months.
Anita was born on May 9, 1931 to Erwin Douglas and Wanda Thompson Wiser in Lewiston, Utah. Her parents preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Robert and Sylmar Wiser, and also by her sisters Genevieve Denning and Gwen Wiser. Anita grew up in Lewiston, attended North Cache High, and there met a handsome young man named Cleve Raymond. She married her sweetheart on July 13th, 1949 in the Logan Temple and later moved to Moab to raise their family. Cleve and Anita chose to serve a full time mission together when Cleve retired, after which they moved to Orem. Her dear Cleve passed away on September 20, 2004, and Anita has yearned to be with him ever since.
Anita is survived by four brothers: Dee (Lorna) Wiser, Cedar City, Utah; Gordon (Lou) Wiser, Providence, Utah; Denny (Beverly) Wiser, Issaquah, Washington; and Burdette Wiser, Provo, Utah. She is also survived by seven children, and one foster daughter. Children are: Sandra (Karl) Jarvis, Santaquin, Utah; Michael (Janet) Raymond, Woodland Hills, Utah; Mark (MaryAnn) Raymond, Vernal, Utah; Bruce (Valerie) Raymond, Pueblo, Colorado; Robert (Lori) Raymond, Orem, Utah; Sharon (Bart) Leavitt, Moab, Utah; Jonathan (Darlene) Raymond, San Diego, California; and Helena (Raymie) Namingha, Second Mesa, Arizona; She is also survived by 29 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at the Orem 1st Ward chapel located at 80 South 280 East, 84058. A viewing will be held at this location beginning at 9:30 am until 10:30 am, after which the funeral will begin at 11:00 am. An additional viewing is scheduled for Wednesday evening, October 5th from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary located at 495 South State Street, Orem Utah.
In lieu of flowers, please contribute to the General Missionary fund of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Interment will occur at the Smithfield, Utah cemetery.
