Angelina Salene Tafoya Pacheco, 91, our precious and devoted mother, wife, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away at home on Monday, April 25, 2022, and was surrounded by her family throughout her struggle and final moments. Angie was born on January 23, 1931, in Denver, Colorado to Bernabe Tafoya and Hilaria Lucero. She had a happy childhood in Denver and lived in various other places, but she lived most of her adult life in Phoenix, Arizona, Orem, Utah and Flower Mound, Texas.
Angie was the first born of 8 children and enjoyed being the big sister to her 7 siblings. Her strong will and sense of responsibility served her well in her life. Her love of family led her to dedicating her life to her passion of genealogy and she worked tirelessly tracing her family history back to the 1500’s. She cherished her faith as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served a 2-year mission in San Antonio, Texas where she learned to speak Spanish fluently. She was a hard worker and had countless talents. Anything she did, she did well. Angelina had a strong and spunky personality but was also very caring and kind. She unapologetically focused only on the things she wanted to do in life, and she did them her way. Her life has been an inspiration to so many and she will be profoundly missed. Her candid honesty, integrity, generosity, and love will always be remembered.
Angelina is survived by her husband Antonio Pacheco, of Flower Mound, Texas, and her four children: Gary (Christine) Baker of Queen Creek, Arizona; Jill (Randy) Conforti of Saratoga Springs, Utah; Susan (Arthur) Seguin of Double Oak, Texas; Rachelle (Christian) Mann of Flower Mound, Texas; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Jim and Terry, and sister Cecile.
