Amos B. Chin, son of Edward and Cecilyn Chin concluded his earthly mission on Monday, August 28, 2017. Health maladies, which lead to his departure, did not diminish his faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ or his resolve to endure challenges with dignity. He enjoyed life to the fullest, as was possible. Born March 31, 1959, in Kingston (St. Andrew), Jamaica, Amos served his Savior as a full-time missionary in the Florida Fort Lauderdale Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1976-1978. He earned several undergraduate and graduate degrees from Brigham Young University, BYU-Idaho, and Western Governors University. His work ethic resulted in several career paths in Jamaica and Utah where he especially enjoyed helping youth discover their full potential.
His love for family, especially his nephews and nieces, was a driving force in his life. Proceeded in death by his dad, Edward, sisters Rosemarie and Georgia, his brother Michael, grandparents, and other relatives with whom he is now reunited. His departure from mortality leaves a void for many, especially his mom Cecilyn; brother Gus (Lisa) Chin; nieces Barbra, Emmalyn and AnnMarie Chin, Lylie Sterne, Jadine, and Lydia Dixon; nephews Jeremiah (Keeonna) Chin, Edward and Michael Sterne; as well as other family members and friends.
Visitation on Friday, September 8, 2017, from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at Cascade 7th Ward Chapel located at 430 East 400 North, Orem, Utah, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. Interment at the Orem City Cemetery.
