Allen Delamar Hair, 86, passed away at his home in Orem, Utah on September 28, 2014. He was born April 17, 1928 in Provo, Utah to Delamar Benjamin Hair and Zelma Dagmar Johnson. After graduating from Spanish Fork High School in 1946, he served a mission to the North Central States Mission. Allen graduated from Brigham Young University in 1951 with a bachelor's degree in Industrial Arts. He met his wife, June Neagle, on a blind date on Jan 1, 1951 and they were married September 7, 1951 at the Manti LDS Temple. In 1951, he was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force, where he served with distinction for 20 years, retiring at the rank of Lt Colonel. An avid woodworker, his craftsmanship skills served many neighbors, family, and friends. He made thousands of wooden toys for distribution to children in Latin America. His years of service delivering for Meals on Wheels, the local Family History Center, and at the Timpanogos LDS Temple, reflect his determination to serve others. Allen is survived by his wife, June; daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Robert Bishop; daughter, Joanne Hanks; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Jane Hair; 12 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held in his honor on Friday October 3, 2014, from 4:30-6:30, Cascade 1st Ward on 481 E. Center Street, Orem, Utah. The burial will be in the Orem City Cemetery.
