Adabelle was born to John Hartman and Ella Mae Strine in Milton, PA. November 10,1920. She had 7 brothers and sisters who are all now deceased. She married Funda Shellenberger on August 31, 1940, they were later divorced. They had four children, Linda Jean (deceased), Terry, UT, Dixie Lee, UT, and Mary Sue, PA (Walter Hoey). Seven grandchildren and eight great grand children. She graduated from Sunbury PA high school in 1938, and graduated Bloomsburg State Teachers College in 1960. She spent 26 years as a speech and hearing therapist and became certified as a foot reflexologist in 1986. Adabelle was baptized in to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in September 1952 (along with her son Terry) in the Susquehanna River. She held various callings in the church including gospel doctrine teacher, relief society president, primary, etc. She served in the Timpanogos temple for ten years and cherished every moment! Mom's life was spent in service to everyone around her. She became friends with everyone she came in contact with. Service to others was the most important goal in her life and she is now reaping the rewards of that great life. She died March 6 in the Heritage Care Center in American Fork, UT. Thanks to the nurses and staff of Brio Hospice and Heritage Care for their tender loving care of Adabelle. An open house in honor of Adabelle will be held on Saturday March 14, 2015 at the Lindon 4th ward chapel. 731 E. Center in Lindon, UT from 1pm-3pm.
