Aaron David McDonald, age 31, of Orem, Utah, passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 22, 2016. He was born on October 10, 1984 in Northridge, California to David and Victoria McDonald.
He had a vibrant sense of humor and loved to perform stand up comedy. He had an endless knowledge of baseball and loved watching and talking the game. He also enjoyed watching tennis matches, especially when his favorite player, Rafael Nadal, was on the court. He played volleyball in high school and passed up playing collegiately to serve a two year mission in the Philippines for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was an Eagle Scout. He loved animals, especially his beloved dog, Raffy. He worked as a LPN for many years, and had just begun his final year at Weber State to earn his RN. He loved to help others, and all his patients loved him.
Aaron brought light and laughter to everyone who knew him. He loved all his friends and siblings, and they loved him.
He is survived by his 5 siblings, Rebecca Griffiths of New Mexico, Melinda (John) Van Deventer of Santa Clarita, California, Laura (Jon) Strong of Santa Clarita, California, Jennifer (Levi) Leavitt of San Francisco, California, and Adam McDonald of Provo, Utah; his mother, Victoria (Lynn) Engberson of Orem; his father, David (Colleen) McDonald of Santa Clarita, California; and former spouse, Stephanie Hurlbut of Orem.
A memorial service will be held Friday, September 30, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the LDS Chapel on 140 North 400 West, Orem, Utah. A visitation or gathering of family and close friends will be held at the same location at 10 a.m.
Aaron will be cremated.
