On Sunday July 17, 2016 at 10:08pm, Kimberly Marjorie Hill shook off the earthly chains that bound her. Before passing, Kim was able to visit her family and friends. After laughing, crying and reminiscing for hours, Kim walked bravely toward the eternities and took one more step toward ultimate victory.
Kim was born in Provo, Utah on December 29, 1971 to Dwight and Alana Hill. She spent the first six years of her life in Provo where she attended Provost elementary school, modeled for Sharpe photography and tap danced into our hearts. She moved to Orem “The City of Happenings” in 1978 with her Mom and Dad and two brothers at the time. A new home in a new neighborhood and a new town provided many exciting things to a bright young girl and she embraced them fully. She quickly made friends in the neighborhood, at church and at Hillcrest elementary school. She was active in her church, the 4-H and dance in her youth. She later attended Lakeridge and Orem High.
As many of you know, Kim was paralyzed from the neck down in July 2002. Since that day, fourteen years ago, she has gone through countless medical treatments and has lived in various locations. Most recently she was hospitalized, in part, because her diaphragm was so weak that she was unable to breathe on her own. She expressed her love to all around her in those final days and encouraged us by saying that she would be “our guardian angel on the other side.” In the end Kim was at peace and ready for the next phase of her existence.
Kim is survived by her parents Dwight and Alana Hill and her siblings Trent (and his wife Lily and their children Owen and Emma), Justin, Dana, Bridger (and his wife Laura and their children Jayden, Hazel, Oliver and Eliza), Allisia (and her children Madison and James), Katrina (and her son Jiovanni), Kaitlyn and Kolton.
We express our love for each of you. Thank you for your words of encouragement, professional services and selfless acts now and over these many years. We would love to have you join us as we celebrate the life and mourn the loss of our beloved Kimberly.
Gratefully yours,
The Hill Family
