Collin Thomas

Collin Lee Thomas, 31, of Orem, Utah, passed away on the evening of October 22, 2016. Collin was born on June 22nd, 1985, at Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland. The only boy amongst 5 children, Collin brought great joy, love, and laughter to his family. He was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 4, but was always optimistic, referring to his Diabetes as a “condition” rather a “disease”. As a member of a military family, Collin was able to travel the world far more in his 31 years than most people do in their entire lives. He lived in England and Germany, and traveled to many other countries during his childhood and teen years. Collin was a man of many talents. He started playing the drums in Elementary school, which ignited a lifelong passion for music. He gained a passion for theatre while attending Utah Valley University, and became an integral part of the theatre department at UVU as the result of his incredible talent for both acting and singing. He also had a passion for food, and was an outstanding cook. Collin was the epitome of a true friend. His close circle of friends meant the world to him, and he was a friendly to all he met. He was kind and genuine, and spoke to everyone as if they were important, not out of obligation, but because each person he met truly was important to him. Collin also had a great love for animals, and they loved him in return. He was a loving brother and son, and a devoted uncle, spending countless hours playing with each of his 10 nieces and nephews, whom he adored. He was a sensitive soul, and a truly special and unique person who will be remembered by all.
Collin is survived by his Nana, Betty Thomas; his parents, Mark and Marnie Thomas; his four sisters, Sarah Bobo, Kendall Harris, Adrienne Wheeler, and Ann Thomas; and countless nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. He is preceded in death by his Grandma, Sarah Ailene Capps, his Grandpa, Dan Capps, his Granddad, Edgar “Pete” Thomas, Jr., his Uncle, Peter Thomas, and his beloved dog, Leena.
